Green and Blue Summer Look Tutorial (video + pictures)

I'm back again everyone, thanks for all the nice comments you left on my Disney contest entry. :) How are you today? I'm doing this quick post before I get to bed because I don't want to just have this video and pictures sitting around on my computer. I might forget about it. Hehe.

Don't you just hate it when you tell yourself you have to do something and then you forget about it in a minute or two? That always happens to me. Grr. Anyway...

I decided a while back that I would do a tutorial or at least an FOTD with my new NYX loose e/s's and my Jesse's Girl eye dust. It made more sense to me to use the green and blue together, especially since the Jesse's Girl eye dust was a pretty pretty duochrome blue and green e/s...so this is what I came up with.

I think this would be better for a summer night out. Lol.

Here is the video tutorial:

I know my face looks oily in this, but I swear I had it matte..I just got sweaty because of the weather!! OMG. PS, I realized that it's the weather that's got me oiling up like crazy.

And for those who don't want to watch the video, I have a picture tutorial. Well, sort of. :) PS, sorry for the messy brows. Been lazy to groom them...but that's the first thing I'll do tomorrow morning. :)

What I used:
FACE: MAC studiofix powder in NC35, Ellana Minerals foundation in hazelnut latte for setting powder
CHEEKS: Generic blush + ELF natural radiance blusher in Glow
LIPS: PAC satin finish lipstick in misty brown, ELF super glossy lipshine on top
EYES: Art Deco eyeshadow base, NYX ultra pearl mania in Lime, Jesse's Girl eye dust in trouble maker, Jesse's girl bejewelled quad (gold color) for highlight, Coastal Scents Gel Eyeliner in black, PAC white eyeliner pencil, Maybelline volum' express cat eyes mascara (HG!)

So here is the photo tutorial!

OPTIONAL STEP: Prime lids (I used Art Deco eyeshadow base--I love it, it really really minimizes fallout!)

STEP 1: Using a regular eyeshadow brush, pat NYX ultra pearl mania in Lime all over lid and a little above the crease.

STEP 2: Taking Jesse's Girl eye dust in Troublemaker (with the same brush), pat it onto the eyelid starting from the outer corner working to the middle part of the lid, also pulling the colour in the crease into the inner corner just a bit. Blend!

STEP 3: Taking a fluffier brush (or crease/blending brush if you have one--I don't), get a bit of black e/s (I used the black in my PAC palette for this) and get it onto your crease starting from the outer corner of the eye. Blend upwards into the blue.

STEP 4: Using a smaller angled brush or a stiff, thin eyeshadow brush, get some of the NYX ultra pearl e/s in Lime and line your lower lashline with it. Then take some of the Jesse's Girl eye dust in troublemaker and start from the outer corner of the lower lashline, line it and meet the NYX Lime in the middle. Blend.

STEP 5: Taking a highlight color (I used the gold in my Jesse's Girl bejewelled e/s quad), sweep from under the brow to the e/s and blend, should look like this below:

Also in this step: Line upper lash line (I used Coastal Scents gel eyeliner in Black) and waterline (optional--I used white to make me look more awake). Apply mascara (Used Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara)

FINISHED LOOK
Look at me in all my silly-face glory! Rofl jkjk

So that's it for this tutorial, I hope you girls liked it!! If you have any requests I'll gladly take them. :) Anything at all.

Life update of sorts: Today I've done nothing but laze around. I had told myself I would do something significant or at least productive but I ended up just playing around on the internet. Some days you just gotta have some downtime, I guess...I'm still recharging after all. Aside from that, I guess I just had the usual Monday laziness. Haha.

So I guess that's all for today/tonight, ladies! I hope you had a good weekend and that you have a good week. :) Happy Monday!!

Playing around and tagging!

I was bored today, so I was just playing around with eyeshadow. I decided not to do a full face because I'm letting my face rest from all the stuff I've been putting on it, so all I've had on today was moisturizer.

I had loads of fun playing with e/s! I used my PAC palette and MAC's Bagatelle..as primer and base I used Art Deco eyeshadow base and Elianto Shimmer e/s in Ivory (applied wet). For the highlight I used my Coastal Scents 28 neutral palette. I don't know if you can see it, but the highlight e/s has a pretty green irridescence.

You know, I realized that for me Art Deco works much better than UDPP... I mean it's easier to apply, no drying time, blending is easier, e/s practically has no fallout, lasts all day without creasing and oiling up!

Please ignore the rest of my oily un-made up face (what you can see, anyway). And my brows, omg! So messy, but I do not want to overpluck.

I got inspired by a picture of the sunset for this. :)

Bought stuff and made a mistake + QUESTIONS

Hello blogger ladies! How are you today/tonight? :)

So today my aunt left to go back home to the US. I miss her already, it's so quiet here without her. She's quite fun, and I'm a bit sad now.

Anyway, after we brought her to the airport, we passed by MOA (Mall of Asia) because I asked my mom if we could. We are rarely ever in the area so I decided it to ask her..and she said yes! I mostly asked because I heard there was a MAC counter there. I originally intended just to get my skin swatched to see what shade I was...and I ended up buying MAC studio fix powder foundation. x.x

MY MOOLAH! Its goooone. :(

YES, ladies, this is the start of my search for my HG foundation.

As it turns out I'm NC35. I love that it is the perfect shade for me, but maaaaybe I shoulda bought the liquid foundation for better coverage. That's mistake number one. XD But I like that it's light and feels like nothing on my face. Not too good a coverage though. I just have to get rid of my acne scars and I'll be set--so girls, I NEED your help! What's a good way to do that? Cheap, too.

I took a few pictures because I did my makeup today just so I could see how well the foundation would fare with my oiliness and the weather. Too bad it was kind of not so hot today and I didn't sweat so I didn't get to test it on that, but with the oilies...

Just applied. LOOK AT THE FLASH PICTURE. MY SKIN IS THE EXACT SAME SHADE AS MY NECK. Usually I had a problem with that. But I have found my shade!!

After a couple of hours, top pic without flash, bottom pic with flash. You can see the oiliness there, with the sheen...but without the flash (top pic) it looks pretty matte. I tried oil blotting papers with it and it works quite well, but takes some of the powder away. Tomorrow I'm going to try dusting mineral finishing powder over it to see if that works better.

I don't think this is my HG foundation, but this will be my foundation for a while. At least a year or I finish it because no way am I going to spend so much freaking money again in a long time. Right now I owe my mom and friend at least 3000php total. Oy vey! Hahaha~

SO I'm doing the 10 pan thing...so I can pay everyone back and save up (I will do this after I get the TFS primer/pore minimizer thing). Anyone else doing this challenge? How have you done with it so far?

I really really enjoyed being at the MAC counter though. I did not look through half the things there because it made my heart hurt having so many things around that I could not afford... Sniffle. How I wish I had money! Or at least a way to make money. I was around soo sooo much high end makeup my pocket ached. We left right after we went to the MAC counter because my wallet = empty. Eek! Oh, would you believe that on the way home we got caught up in the labor day rallies? Sigh sigh.

Anyway, tonight I was rubbing off my makeup (my aunt gave me the Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford set) and I got it all off, I THOUGHT, but I started using my toner and there was so much left there!! So, stupidly, I started washing my face again. Used my usual products instead (holy moly MAC is HARD to get off!), and there was still some stuff on the cotton ball I was using with the toner...but by then my face ached and felt so dry that I just let that go and put my usual face stuff on it, plus the night treatment from Meaningful Beauty. I was so rough on my skin tonight. :( I feel so bad.

My skin is itching, and I think it's because the stuff I use (minus the MB stuff) is really drying it out. But it's what my dermatologist gave me and she didn't give me any moisturizer to use with it...but I think I'll start using moisturizer. My under eye is so dry.. CRAZY dry, that it looks like I have wrinkles. I hate that! I have a problem with my face, like some parts (around the eyebrows in the inner parts of it, under eyes...) are SO dry, and everything else is OILY! Does anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it? [ETA, I use moisturizer in the day...I know I should at NIGHT but I don't know if it'd mess with the acne treatment I'm using. :/]

Sorry this post is so full of questions, loves. I hope you can help and if you take time out to, thank you! :)

How did you spend your day today? I've been watching Ghost Whisperer with my mom the whole day...now she's sleeping. Hehe.

Don't forget about our contest!

1950's pinup

Instead of resting up today because I'm sick, I joined Sabrina's 1950's pinup look contest. I couldn't help it, I was bored so I just did my best! I even tried to curl my hair but...alas, teh hair would not cooperate. :/ Pff.

I used:
Face The Face Shop makeup primer in green, Ellana intense coverage foundation in hazelnut latte, Ellana finishing powder in espresso con panna, Ellana blush in lust, ELF blush in glow, Aziza blush duo for highlight

Eyes PAC palette (gold, brown and black), MAC Bagatelle e/s, Elianto shimmer e/s in Ivory, Aido shimmer/glitter powder in gold, ELF brightening eyeliner in black, Elianto stay-on eyeliner in black, no-brand false eyelashes, Aido eye putty (for lash glue), Cinema Secrets mascara

Lips Revlon lipstick in Copperglaze Brown

Please ignore the splotchiness of my skin, it's my skin asthma acting up.

I know the blush looks uneven here, but I swear it's because I had a lamp coming from the other side so it caught the shimmer and made the pink disappear. O_O

Why yes, I did dress up for this!

Look, falsies! I'm so proud of myself, it only took me one try this time!! I'm starting to love falsies...I think I'm gonna get more. :D

Here I tried a few pinup poses but they didn't really work out -- hey, it's hard to take pictures on tripod you know! Plus it was so hot, I was sweating my makeup off! Not to mention I'm sick.

I know, I need to lose some weight :(

I hope you liked it! :D I had fun.

I had loads of fun! :D (Hangout + Makeup)

My eye hurts--not because I poked myself with brush or eyeliner or anything (I got past that)... it's just that I was wearing my glasses and playing with the puppy...and she hit my glasses and bam! The nosepiece hit my eye and I was wincing and tearing up like a maniac. Sighhhh, accidents, accidents. Bleh!

I had so so so much fun today! Class was okay, not so boring but we were really challenged to think. And I didn't really mind so much--I didn't think political science would be anything but boring but maybe I was wrong. Who knows, maybe I really can achieve my dream of a 4.0 QPI (aka GPA) this summer term.

Anyway, today Kaila came over for our hang out and stuff and it was way fun--I totally missed her! We were bonding over old memories and talking about life in general, watching Enchanted and Mr. Bean while we (well I) played around with makeup... I'm jealous of her, she's got good skin. x.x Mine sucks like whoa.

First I did a neutral look on her--omg finally a neutral look from me! Haha. It seems that ever since I got my CS palette I couldn't stop playing with colors. Here are pictures:

I used: The Face Shop makeup primer in green, Ellana mineral foundation in toffee mocha, Ellana blush in fulfillment, ELF blush in glow, CS 88 palette, MAC Bagatelle e/s, Elianto stay-on eyeliner, Cinema Secrets mascara

Isn't she pretty? :D

And of course, I had to do my own makeup (I think I might make a tutorial on this later...or make it another entry for a contest, idk! Maybe tomorrow...). Kaila was playing around with my camera and she took a shot of me while I was doing my face... you can see how messy my room is! XD

Why yes I do have a couch setup in my bedroom! XD

And this is what came out of my playing around with makeup on myself:

I used: TFS makeup primer in green, Ellana mineral foundie in hazelnut latte + finishing powder in espresso con panna, generic blush, Maybelline concealer+purple lipgloss on lips for nude effect, Eyes: PAC e/s in blue, coastal scents palette, elianto stay-on eyeliner, Cinema Secrets mascara.

Of course we had to have a picture together...

Then Kaila also wanted a rainbow look on her (I don't really think I did that well :() So I did my best! Here is the outcome: I used VOV e/s and my coastal scents 88 palette--we just erased her neutral e/s. Didn't wanna bother with putting foundation all over her face again. Haha.

Excuse the poor quality, I forgot to mess with the settings and take another picture--wth Chrissy? D:

And of course, more girl bonding + camwhoring! Messy hair is due to electric fan pointed directly at us.

I'm really glad I got to hang out with an old friend today. :) How did you spend your day?

On a sidenote--Cheysser I will do the random 7 things tomorrow! I don't have room for it in this post. XD <3

I sorely missed the point.

My friend Kat asked me to do a natural look for her, but a mistake led to me doing a smoky eye with browns, golds and black instead. XD It was a stupid mistake really. Oh well. Anyway--I'll do her neutral FOTD tomorrow.

For now, I'm posting the result of an hour's worth of fooling around with makeup.

Products used:
(As always click on images to enlarge)

FACE The Face Shop primer (green), Maybelline instant age rewind cream foundation in sandy beige, Ellana intense coverage foundation in hazelnut latte, Ellana blush in lust, ELF blush in glow, Max Factor pan stik concealer in noveau beige (NOT MY SHADE D:)

EYES ARTDECO eye primer, Princess Livia neutral quad, PAC shimmer palette, MAC Bagatelle, Cinema Secrets mascara in black, ELF pencil eyeliner, Elianto stay-on liquid eyeliner

LIPS Cinema Secrets Lips for Love Scenes (Rip roaring red-32)

Mini tutorial for e/s: after finishing with the face, apply eye primer, then pat on base color (neutral, close to skin shade) all over eyelids. Choose a shimmery gold and pat over lid, smoothing to even out the color. Choose a complementing brown and apply on outer V and blend, sweep toward crease. Apply MAC Bagatelle or similar gold e/s in frost or white e/s for highlight. Apply pencil eyeliner over upper lid and waterline, smudge with a sponge or an e/s brush. Apply liquid eyeliner over pencil on upper lid. Apply mascara.

I totally look way older in these pics. :x But yeah, anyway. I tried to pull off "sexy", I don't think it really worked.
Close up of eyes--of course the camera did not capture shimmer/frost properly...

Also, notice my new hair? :D I was in the parlor today (nothing special, just got mah hair colored to even it out).

IN OTHER NEWS:
I MADE THE DEAN'S LIST! I don't even know how. Haha. But wth--first time ever. Yay!
