Busy busy... [Attended a Wedding + Review]

Yeah, again life took over and I got really busy the past couple weeks. I attended a wedding as a proxy for my dad and started prepping myself up for school (shopping, hanging out with friends as much as possible, etc). I partied pretty much all weekend just to make up for the fact that once school starts, I won't have any time to at all. Thanks to my best friend, I had a load of fun on my last weekend before school starts.

So now that I have oh, say about 14 hours left before my freedom is taken away from me again, I figured I should take the time to update this little blog of mine before it started gathering dust.

Last June 6th (yes, I am aware of just how behind I am in posting, my gosh haha), I attended a wedding that my parents were invited to. I attended as a proxy for my dad who couldn't make it to the event. Of course I was really psyched, I mean I don't always get to attend events where I got to dress to the nines... not to mention I got to shop for dresses and shoes to wear!

I had bought a dress for Php500 (roughly $11) in May, but while I was with my mom helping her shop for her own dress, I spotted a dress that was pretty much sent to me from heaven. Why do I say that? Well, it was originally selling at Php2000 (roughly $43) but it was on sale for 70% off. So I got it at around php600 (around $13). It's amazing since it was the last piece of that design, last size and all, and it fit me like a glove. Best part: the dress had pockets! Man am I glad I lost weight, if only for the fact that I'm now able to wear cute dresses that I picked just off the rack. Well the dress was a tiny bit loose on me, but it wasn't that obvious. In any case... I suppose I should show photos!

PS: I wore the dress with a black swarovski necklace, but my cousin told me to remove the necklace because we were attending a Chinese couple's wedding and black is not a welcome color for them. Oops!

Also, I forgot to take a shot of my makeup before it melted off my face, but I did get a shot of my eye makeup at least.

In the hotel bathroom, snapping a quick shot after the wedding reception

"I'm gonna sit down, take a picture of me quick!!"

Me and my mom

me and my mom 2

The couple had hired a photo booth service to cover their wedding, and this is one of the photos my mom and I had taken (I had to crop it since my aunt was in it too)

Makeup products used: Celeteque moisturizer, ELF Studio two way powder foundation, MAC Studio Fix in NC35, Maybelline Perfect Concealer, NYX Pinky blush,
Physician's Formula pearls of perfection bronzer, Fashion 21 brow kit, Art Deco eyeshadow base, Shawill 12 color e/s palette, Dollface cosmetics gel eyeliner, Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes mascara, NYX Tea Rose round lipstick

My mom's hair--yes, I did it myself! Haha

When I got home from the wedding, I of course had to take my makeup off. Just a couple days before June 6th I had run out of my favorite eye and lip makeup remover (Maybelline) so I had to pick up some more. But as soon as I got to the department store, I spotted this new product from the local cosmetics company Ever Bilena. Seeing how cheap it was I didn't hesitate to grab a bottle to try because it just might be a good, cheap alternative for my usual makeup remover.

Ever Bilena Advance Makeup Remover (Eye & Lip)

Directions for use (as stated on the bottle): shake well before use. Soak cotton pad with the lotion and apply on your eyes and lips.
Ingredients: Water, cyclopentasiloxane, isohexadecane, cyclohexasiloxane, propylene glycol, hexylene glycol, polyethylene-polypropylene glycol, tetrasodium edta, dipotassium phosphate, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, tocopheryl acetate, benzyl alcohol, 2-phenoxyethanol, CI 42090

I started with this:

And with 1 swipe ended up with this:

The makeup remover had managed to take off the eyeshadow on the area I had wiped off, as well as most of my gel eyeliner--only a few specks of it remained on my eyelid. With a few more wipes I took off the rest of the eye makeup, but it took me a while of rubbing to get my mascara off.

Eyes, completely makeup free

Cotton pad, front

Cotton pad, back

So now that I've used the product, what's my verdict?

PROS
  • Cheap - only Php95 (roughly $2) per 80 mL bottle
  • Locally available and widely distributed, easily availed of
CONS
  • Stings eyes
  • Requires rubbing to take off stubborn mascara
  • Bottle packaging LEAKS
  • Need to use more product to get stubborn makeup off

Because the EB bottle leaks, I transferred the rest of the product into my empty Maybelline bottle.

So as usual, I got my money's worth. I think cheap items are hit and miss, and this one was a miss. I thought I was going to get a bargain but I guess not! This makeup remover by Ever Bilena works but it's not really the best, and any eye product that stings my eyes isn't a very good one in my opinion. I'm going to stick to my Maybelline eye and lip makeup remover. This is a product I won't really recommend.

Well, I guess that's all for now. School starts tomorrow, wish me luck!

FOTD/FOTN & Happy Birthday, Mom!

It's my mom's birthday today (well, Feb 8)--yay! So today, I went to class, then when I got home we all got ready to go out. I wore the following look to school.

FACE Celeteque moisturizer, Neutrogena Spectrum + advanced sunblock lotion SPF 70, Maybelline Clearsmooth Powder
CHEEKS ELF bronzer (I forgot what shade) applied on apples of cheeks
LIPS Shawill lipgloss over Nivea Pinkish Boost lip care 3-in-1
EYES art deco eyeshadow base, 120 palette, Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara

I'm aware that my eyeliner is uneven--this is because I woke up with one eye puffier than the other and had to compensate :/

Coincidentally, my 15 year old brother had his prom tonight (and he needed a ride home) so my parents and I decided that we would eat out so my mom wouldn't have to cook on her own birthday. I changed up a few things so my FOTD would look more appropriate for a night time setting. It was just a casual dinner (we ended up eating at TGI Friday's and for a while I completely forgot all about my diet..sigh).

For my FOTN I just added more black to my crease and thickened my eyeliner. My eyes were still uneven, sigh. Also, I used Saizen blush and Revlon Colorstay lipstick instead.

After dinner, we all went to the hotel where my brother was having his prom to wait for the whole it to finish (we sat at the lobby). A lot of the students were walking out to the photo booth nearby so I was having fun looking at their outfits and reminiscing about my own prom...almost five years ago. Gosh, I feel so old. Hehe. This was me and my mom on the day of my prom.

Don't I look so uncomfortable? LOL. It was because I wasn't happy with the way my makeup looked...that was the last time I ever had someone else do my makeup. From then on, I always did my own.

Anyway, I'm really glad to have my mom. She's such a sweet, caring woman and honestly I know that I take her for granted. I really am lucky that I have her, I wouldn't know what to do with myself otherwise. She's one of my best friends and my guide, the only person I can really turn to when I find myself in trouble.

My mom and me lining up to get to the school gymnasium (auditorium too small to fit everyone) for my high school graduation

I know that sometimes my mom and I have issues (as is normal), and most of the time it's my fault. x.x I can't exactly say I've been a perfect daughter...

I think I was...10 in this. HAHA

But I know she loves me anyway. I love you mom, happy birthday!

Anyway, that's it for today.
Be grateful for the family that you have, everyone! (:

Prestige iQuad Review

So today I really needed to relax after school (it was a really stressful day, deadlines and whatnot), so I decided I would play with makeup and maybe review a quad that came into my possession in December. This is technically a present to my mom, but since my mom doesn't wear makeup much, she gave it to me.

Prestige iQuad in Playback
SRP is around $5.99 for 2.5g of product (because this was given as a present and I haven't had the time to check the stores, I don't know how much it costs here in the Philippines)

Ingredients: Talc, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben (LOOK AT ALL THOSE PARABENS), BHA. May contain[+/-]: Mica CI 77019, Iron Oxides CI 77491/CI 77492/CI 77499, Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Bismuth Oxychloride CI 77163, Ultramarines CI 77007, Manganese Violet CI 77742, Ferric Ferrocyanide CI 77510, Carmine CI 75470, Chromium oxide greens CI 77288, Yellow 5 Lake CI 19140, Blue 1 Lake 42090

Swatches - top row w/o base, bottom row w/ ELF Studio eye primer
The eyeshadows were swatched counter clockwise from the purple
Two swipes each for top row, for bottom row anywhere from 3-5 swipes to get color to stick to base

Here's a mini tutorial for the look I did while I was playing around with this quad in order to review it.

Once eyelids have been primed, apply baby pink shade over eyelid. Layer on until you get your desired intensity (I layered on as much as I could, but it's so hard to get the colors to show up. I gave up at some point since the color would just disappear)

With a crease brush, take purple shade and apply on outer V, bringing the color into the crease. Again build to desired intensity--I was unable to do this again as the eyeshadow just won't layer on. Look at all the fallout!

With a fluffy eyeshadow brush, take the white shade and apply as higlight under browbone, bringing color into inner corner of eyes. As you can see...the first two shades (pink and purple) I applied pretty much disappeared. Still LOTS of fallout.

Line upper and lower lashline. I believe I used Maybelline pencil eyeliner..I forget which kind exactly. It was black, and I went over it with the purple from the quad

Apply mascara

Finished look -- of course you can't really appreciate it granted the fact that the colors pretty much DISAPPEARED.

So here's my review.

PACKAGING
2.5/5
First and foremost, I think the packaging is interesting, but upon realizing that it's packaged to look similar to iPods I'm left scratching my head and wondering why. What's the connection between the two products? They're worlds away from each other. But, okay...it's a novel concept (iQuad = eye quad), and the execution was okay, except the pan did not fit the compact perfectly. I pay attention to details and it bothers me (shallow as I am) that there is a gap in between the pan and the compact where there isn't supposed to be one.

Plus points, however, for the mirror--its sized decently enough. Also for the window on the cover which allows you to see what shades the eyeshadow inside come in without having to check. The compact also seems sturdy.

PRODUCT
1/5
Yeah I know, the quad only costs $5.99 but honestly, I can buy myself 4-6 palettes (5 shades) from LA colors for that price. I gave this such a low rating because as you can see in the pictures above:
  • There was MAJOR fall out
  • I could hardly swatch the eyeshadow
  • It was REALLY hard to get the colors to appear and when they do they disappear after a while. I realize that they're supposed to go on sheerly but come on, I can't even layer on for intensity!
  • The three shades (white, green, pink) all look the same to me when swatched/applied
  • I don't like the consistency of the eyeshadow/powder/formula
  • Would you believe that for the look I did above, I ended up MAJORLY denting the quad? I had such a hard time picking up color that I had to keep going back for more. At this rate I think this would only last me around 10 uses before I toss it...if I even use it
  • It IRRITATED my eye:
I really only gave it a 1/5 because the white, pink and green would seem like decent highlighter colors. Also, the subtle shimmer is nice. The purple shade would have been great, but it disappeared from my crease soon after I finished using it.

WOULD I (RE)PURCHASE?
No. Just flat out no. Like I said, for $6 I can easily pick up other products that have much more 'bang for the buck'. I kind of actually expected more from this product but oh well, I guess this is a miss for me. I'm really glad this was just given to me because if I'd purchased it I'd probably be annoyed.

If you've tried this product, have you had the same experience with it as I have?

Review: Blistex Lip Tone vs Nivea Lip Care Pinkish Boost

Since I started on Isotane and began experiencing the most common side effect, dry lips, I ended up having to use lip balm all the time. In November, I used up two tubes of Nivea Lip Care lip balm (Cherry and Strawberry). Eventually I became reliant or more appropriately, addicted to lip care products even though I no longer experience dry lips. I ended up buying a few lip care products that I've seen around.

I bought my Blistex Lip Tone sometime early December 2009, and as of now there is only 1/4 left in the tube. I was heavily reliant on it for a while. When I thought I lost my Blistex, I bought Nivea Lip Care Pinkish Boost (3-in-1) and started using it. I found my Blistex eventually so now I alternate between the two lip products depending on the effect that I want.

Blistex Lip Tone (Link)

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Meradimate, Octinoxate, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, aluminum hydroxide, beeswax, benzoic acid, butyl paraben, calendula officinalis flower extract, ethylparaben, flavor, glyceryl laurate, glycine, sunflower seed oil, iron oxide, isohexadecane, isopropyl lanolate, krameria triandra root extract, lauric acid, methyl paraben, mica, mineral oil, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, ozokerite, petrolatum, polybutene, propyl paraben, vitamin A, castor seed oil, saccharin, sesame seed oil, sorbic acid, Vitamin E, titanium dioxide, corn oil

Description from Blistex.com:
"Blistex Lip Tone complements the natural complexion of your lips by combining the effective moisturization and protection you'd expect from a Blistex lip balm with a slight touch of color.

Enhances Lips' Complexion: Lip Tone brings out the natural blush and luster of your lips with a slight touch of color. Your lips will look healthy, natural....great!

Moisture Maintenance: Lip Tone's Moisture-Nutrient Complex combines a long lasting moisture protectant with natural plant and amino components. Lip Tone helps to preserve lips' moisture and relieve drying.

Sun Protection: PABA-free Lip Tone provides SPF 15 protection, which is recommended even for people who burn easily and tan minimally. Remember, LIPS DON'T TAN, BUT THEY DO BURN®."

My Impression

Pros
  • SPF 15 for sun protection
  • Very moisturizing!
  • Non-sticky texture, glides onto lips easily
  • Tint accentuates lips for that my lips but better effect
  • Scented kind of like chocolate
  • Can be layered on for more color
  • Affordable (P89 or roughly almost 2 USD for 4.25g of product)
Cons
  • Rubs off onto clothes and stains because it is tinted
  • There is a weird taste when I lick my lips, but I find it tolerable
  • Only one shade available
  • Feathers into lines
  • Sometimes doesn't apply evenly
Tips
  • If your lips are chapped/peeling, exfoliate them first before applying this. The product builds up unevenly otherwise since it's tinted and it looks weird.
Would I purchase again?
YES! I really like this product despite its shortcomings. It gives a really nice effect on the lips and it's a really great substitute for wearing lipstick every day.

Nivea Lip Care Pinkish Boost (3-in-1) - SPF 15 [also: contains ginseng]

Ingredients: Octyldodecanol, C18-38 alkyl hydroxystearoyl stearate, Ricinus Communis Oil, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Butylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Ethylhexyl salicylate, Homosalate, Panthenol, Aqua, Polyglyceryl-3-Diisostearate, Butyrospermum Parkii, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panax ginseng, Cera alba, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Magnesium stearate, Magnesium sulfate, Propylene Glycol, PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trideceth-9, Phenoxyethanol, Propylparaben, BHT, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-isomethylionone, Linalool, Methyl benzoate, Parfum, CI 77891, CI 73360, c20-40 alkyl stearate

Quoted from Gracie:
"Nivea Lipcare Pinkish Boost, the first lip care product that helps reveal natural rosy lips. With its Pinkish Vitamin complex and regenerative ginseng, regular use will reduce the dullness of your lips and restore its natural rosiness or pinkish color. The product contains SPF 15 to help protect lips from further darkening while double moisturizers provide long lasting moisturization for up to eight hours."
My impression

Pros
  • Nice, fresh scent
  • Non-sticky
  • Glides easily onto lips
  • Tube packaging and applicator works well
  • SPF 15
  • Gives nice pinkish tint to lips and also gives a nice glossy effect
  • Can be layered on for more color
  • Very moisturizing
Cons
  • Weird but tolerable taste
  • Somewhat pricey at P175 (approx $3.8) although it is for 10ml so it's debatable
  • I wear this every day and see no difference in my lips (there is no actual pinkish boost unless I'm wearing the product)
  • Unlike what it says on the packaging, the moisturizing effect doesn't actually last 8 hours, I need to reapply this every so often
Would I repurchase?
No, after looking at the ingredients list I'm not sure I want all of that on my lips. I have a habit of licking my lips, after all. I'm still looking for products that are all natural.

Here is a picture to show you the comparison of how the two products look when applied on the lips:
Very subtle effect, no? I do like the effect of Blistex better. :)

So who won this round?
For me, it's Blistex, just for the overall effect I get while using it. Also it does what it promises to do.

What about you, what are your favorite lip care products?

Brand Focus: Shawill (Reviews)

Hey again, everyone!

So okay, I've been busy lately, but sembreak is fast approaching so when it gets there I hope to be blogging (almost) everyday. I'll do my best.

But anyway, here is a brand that I think deserves much attention.

I just started seeing this brand Shawill around lately, I think it's only been around for a year or so. I first caught sight of it at Watson's Gateway, and at first I ignored them because their offerings seemed a bit like a rip-off. They had cream eyeshadows (single) running for P128 each (roughly $2.70) that were a lot like G-Lish's, so I didn't bother to try them.

Eventually, I found Shawill at Landmark Trinoma, with a better display and new items. So I had to get some stuff.

At first I only bought a lipgloss (priced at P128) and a lip balm (P98).

But today, my parents and I were at the mall. While my mom was off looking around for home decor and my dad was looking for a new LCD TV/Monitor, I of course was at the cosmetics department.

Imagine my surprise when I saw new Shawill products! They had 12 eyeshadow palettes and new lipglosses so I had to stop by and just check everything out. Luckily the SA, Ate Paula, was very nice and accommodating.

And so without further ado, here are my purchases (including the lipgloss and lipbalm I got before):

isn't the e/s palette (Shawill 12 color palette #1) totally cute? :D

Inside shot of the palette, no flash. The place where the applicator is on is a mirror

with flash

swatches, no flash, no base underneath. 1 swipe each

swatches with flash, still no base, still 1 swipe each

My thoughts about the eyeshadow palette:
PROS
  • The packaging is cute and seemingly sturdy
  • There is a mirror in the palette albeit a bit small (although it's long so you can see both eyes and make sure your eyeshadow is even!)
  • The price -- 148php for 12 eyeshadows? WOW! That's 12php for each one. In $, roughly...
    a quarter each
  • Pretty pigmented
  • Different types of palettes to choose from (at the Shawill display there were neutrals and colorful palettes. There are also 6 e/s palettes)
  • Very shimmery
  • Very blendable
  • Good that there is a black and a white and many matchable shades
  • Expiry date on the bottom of the palette (although..I'm not sure if I believe it. It says it expires on 2017. Whaaaat!)

CONS

  • When you first open the palette, it is overwhelmingly glittery!! But, it turns out it is only the top layer with glitter. Once you get to the eyeshadow it's all nicely frost-finished
  • Can be a bit hard to pick up with a brush
  • The packaging says 12 color cream eyeshadow, although the eyeshadow is clearly powder
  • Also, grammatical error on the packaging (understandable--it is packaged in China but made in Italy)

WILL I REPURCHASE? If need be, yes. But I want to pick up the other palettes, since this one shows so much promise! I am loving it.

Shawill blush in #1, white dot at the center was because the blush is domed and was hitting the lid

included mirror and brush in a compartment

swatch, accurate with flash

My thoughts on the blush:
PROS
  • VERY VERY VERY pigmented. A little goes a long way. Too much and you look like a clown
  • Mirror included in the packaging
  • Nice amount of product for the price
  • Cheap (128php, roughly $2.50-$2.70)
  • So far the blush pops up on my cheeks and stays even though I'm really oily (it's been 2 hours since I applied it, but while I was at the mall the SA applied it on my cheeks and it stayed for 3 hours till I removed it)

CONS

  • Limited shades available, and when I was there there were only 2 available. Others were OOS
  • Packaging is nice but flimsy to the touch
  • Brush included is useless, sheds like crazy

WILL I REPURCHASE? I'd be interested to try it in other shades.

lip balm swatch. effect: sheer, reddish tinge to lips

lipgloss #3

lipgloss #3 swatched on lips--effect: glossy, shimmery wash of pink

lipgloss #11

swatch of lipgloss #11 on lips. effect: shimmery gloss, sheer with barely there pink

My thoughts on the lip balm and lip glosses:

PROS

  • Cheap. lip balm costs 98php, lip gloss #3 10 ml costs 128php and lipgloss #11 7ml with Vitamin E costs 128php
  • Very shimmery, gives off a nice effect
  • Not sticky!! I think this is very important for lipglosses because sticky l/g's make me go "ugh"
  • The lip balm applies nicely and gives a subtle glow and nice shine to lips
  • The shine of the lipbalm isn't so intense that it looks like you just ate something greasy
  • Stays on relatively well (until you eat, pretty much like other glosses)
  • Different shades to choose from (4 are available for the lip balm, manyyyy are available for the glosses)
  • Lip glosses have very nice packaging
  • Light, pleasant scent and taste for the lip glosses :)

CONS

  • The lip balm's packaging fades, but it is good and sturdy otherwise
  • Strange price discrepancy for the lip glosses--the 10 ml is cheaper! But maybe it's because the 7ml has vitamin E (supposedly)
  • The lip balm will run out fast! (at least for those who are as obsessed with keeping lips moisturized as me)
  • Some lip glosses are so sheer that they end up looking all the same on the lips. Maybe it was the lighting. I'll have to go back and check.

WILL I REPURCHASE? Yesssssssss! I'll buy more lipglosses, I think I want to own all the shades someday, at least the ones that seem different from each other. Lol.

Yeah, so that's pretty much it for my Shawill purchases! I hope you ladies in the Philippines find this helpful. :) When you see this brand around, check it out and grab some of their stuff! I mostly stuck with the eyeshadows/blush/lip stuff because I think their powder foundations had fragrance in it. So I avoided it. Haha. Otherwise... I give Shawill a 4/5, for something in its price range it is very very good! (-1 pt for shoddy spelling/grammar on packaging and excessive fragrance in some products..also because I haven't tried everything and can't tell if it's all good, lol).

Thanks for reading!!

Haul + PAC eyeshadow palette review

Hey again! Wow, I've sorta been busy lately so I've had to put this post off over and over. I'd also been hit with the exhaustion bug, even though I've been sleeping the right amount of hours lately. I guess it's sort of the stress? Oh well. Thankfully I have a long weekend this week. Today I had no classes, and I caught wind of a sale at SM North Edsa (for you ladies who can get there, sale is 20% off on all (sometimes on selected) items at the cosmetics department, but mallwide it's up to 50% off through July 31-Aug2) and my parents and I decided to hit the mall to see what was on sale.

I originally thought, oh hey I should try the Revlon foundation since I've been hearing so much good stuff about it, but..sigh. It wasn't on sale! :/ So I instead went around and decided to get backups for the stuff I usually use, and then a few items here and there. Here's my happy little haul:

L-R: cutlery container (for brushes, I have some coming in the mail from Makeup Masala :D the thing is fugly i know but its temporary until I can find a decent one), ELF eyelash curler spare, ELF clear mascara, Vo5 mousse for curly hair, Maybelline Eyestudio vivid and smooth eyeliner, Maybelline lip and eye makeup remover backup, Tea Tree oil from Zen Zest, Maybelline volum express cat eyes mascara backup (HG!!), Fashion 21 dip liner

My brushes in the new container they'd live in...it looks so empty right nowwww. DX

Oh! I have a bit of good news for ladies in the Philippines. ELF is bringing their Studio line in, and it should be here by late August or early September. Isn't that awesome? :D
So, anyway, I have a review for you all. I shoulda posted it a while ago but as I said things came up so...here it is now!
I have had this PAC perfect finish pearly eyeshadow palette (whew, mouthful!) in February 2009 to do my cousin's makeup for her prom. I couldn't find a good kind of red, until I dropped by PAC. I was hesitant too cause I knew them for their expensive prices and I wasn't aware back then that buying quality was better. Thankfully I had my friend with me and she convinced me to buy it (partly cause it was on sale and would come with a free bag :D). I am SO glad that I did. This palette, to be honest, started my full-blown addiction to makeup.

Packaging is matte, sturdy and sleek

Palette picture with flash -- pans are HUGE

Without flash

Finger swatches with flash, very accurate picture of the colors

Look at that. Very pigmented, right? Well look at this picture:

This is the picture of my fingers AFTER I swiped the swatches onto my arm. I grabbed a small amount of shadow from the palette. Just one-two swirls on the pan.

Flash on top, no flash on bottom. One swipe on arm. (Please ignore the eyeliner swatches)

The eyeshadows are so pigmented there is barely any difference between the side with no base (left) and the side with the base (right). For the record I used UDPP for these swatches.

I love so many things about this palette.

PROS

  • Huge pans, very generous amount of eyeshadow (I would guess 7g-10g). A lot bigger than MAC eyeshadow pans
  • Very very pigmented
  • A little goes a long way
  • Great texture, easy to blend -- Very blendable in fact
  • Sleek packaging, seems very durable
  • Long-wearing and doesn't fade
  • Fair price 2000php (reg price) or a little over 40USD
  • Very versatile - can be used as eyeshadow or eyeliner, can be applied wet or dry (although it is very pigmented even when dry)
  • Great for bright looks, theater jobs, photoshoots etc
  • Using the right brushes, very minimum fall out

CONS

  • Slight smell in palette strong at first but goes away after some time (that or I grew to like it LOL)
  • Can get messy sometimes
  • Due to pan size, e/s can break a bit easily when dropped or accidentally scraped
  • Not available worldwide (although I hear this is available in New York), and website is in Indonesian
  • Color combinations can be difficult
  • Can be difficult to remove because it is so pigmented
  • Can be difficult to get correct or 'just right' amount of eyeshadow with the brush (texture of eyeshadow makes it stick to brushes really easily)
  • It's supposed to be a 'pearl' finish palette but most are just shimmer. In fact it's a mix between VERY shimmery, slightly shimmery, and one matte shade (brown--slightly less pigmented than other shades too). To PAC's credit, the blue/green duochrome does have a pearl finish.

TIPS

  • Take a very minimal amount on your brush and just build the color up to get desired shade
  • Wear base to avoid creasing if your eyelids are very oily
  • Have a good makeup remover handy
  • Take care not to drop the palette

I will definitely repurchase this palette!

To be quite honest I love this palette so much that I use it every chance I have, even if I have my Coastal Scents 88 palette. It got me pretty much in love with the brand and I just wish they would come out with more colors (although perhaps they have more colors and they're just not available here) and get their site translated into English.

If you could get your hands on this palette and have some extra money on you I definitely suggest you get it, you'll be as satisfied as I am. PAC also has another palette (I think matte shades), and a blush palette. The prices can seem a bit steep sometimes [to people like me lol] but just wait for a sale, and it'll be very worth it. Check out their other products too, great value for money (but stay away from the lipstick if you tend to have chapped lips).

Their website: http://www.pacbeauty.com/
As far as I know, PAC is available in SM North Edsa and TriNoma.
