Ube Keso inspired EOTD + Tutorial

Ube keso is a delicacy here in my country. I can't exactly explain what it is, but it's really yummy (although not exactly a favorite of mine). But while I was at the mall earlier today, I saw a picture of this while I was passing by a fast food place and decided that I needed to do a look with purple and yellow in it. It's a pretty color combination, after all! It oddly enough works with eyeshadow, too. So I decided I'd do a tutorial as well.

**** After some research I found out that ube is purple yam. :) (and of course, keso is cheese). Here is a wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ube

For this EOTD/FOTD, I used mostly Shawill products (if you recall I featured Shawill on my blog recently).

This will be the finished look:

For this, I used the following:

FACE Celeteque Moisturizer, The Face Shop primer in green (used for red spots only), Ellana Minerals concealer in Smile, MAC Studio Fix in NC35, Mineraux foundation and Mineraux neutral mineral veil
CHEEKS ELF bronzer in warm tan, ELF illuminizer (I forgot what it's called), Shawill blush
EYES Art Deco eyeshadow base, Shawill palette #1, Dollface Cosmetics 28 neutral palette, ELF transparent brow gel/mascara, ELF eye brightening pencil eyeliner in coffee, Maybelline eyeliner in black, Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes mascara
LIPS PAC lipstick in misty brown, Shawill lip gloss

We will be using colors (in order) 9, 3, 12, 7

If you desire, start by priming your eyelids to make your eyeshadow more vibrant, and to prevent it from creasing or fading. For this step, I used Art Deco eyeshadow base.

For the next step, take your favorite eyeshadow brush (I used elianto's angled eyeshadow brush) and get color 9, applying a wash all over the eyelids.

Then, using the same brush, pick up color 3 and place on outer corner, blending into yellow and bringing it inwards around the crease and socket.

Taking color 12 with a crease brush or a small domed brush for precise application (I used Sembem/Life & Companion's crease brush), apply over outer v and bring into crease, concentrating color on the outer corner. Blend blend blend!

Using the same brush, get color 7 and apply as a highlight on inner corners. If desired, get an eyeshadow brush and pick up some of color 4, layering over the purple in order to create a better gradient effect.

For the next step I used my Dollface Cosmetics palette (28 neutral). I used color 2C, taking a fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply as highlight under my eyebrow, blending into purple color.

For eyeliner, I took a thin, stiff-bristled brush (I was using an EcoTools brush), taking some of color 12 from the Shawill palette and using it to line my upper eyelids. I used the same brush to apply color 9 and 3 on my lower eyelids, letting them meet in the middle. I lined my waterline with Maybelline eyeliner in black.

Curled lashes and applied mascara on upper/lower lashes...and we're done! :D

The finished look:

Tada! I hope you liked my tutorial! :D

Ever Ever After (contest entry)

I remember watching Enchanted ages ago and going, WOW, Queen Narissa's makeup is amazing. And back then I didn't even know what the heck the outer v or the crease was...never liked blush, never liked lipstick, and never knew eye shadow primers existed. Haha. Wow, seems like such a long time ago, even though it hasn't really been that long.

I used Queen Narissa as an inspiration for Sarah's Disney Contest mainly because she is a cool villain. And she has great makeup, come on! Lol. I really think though that her character made the movie, even if Disney has this entire thing with the stepmothers as villains going on. And Susan Sarandon in the role was perfect. :)

This was my inspiration picture

What I used.
Face: MAC Studiofix powder foundation in NC35, Ellana Oil Absorbing Finishing Powder in espresso con panna, generic blush (LOOK, I HIT PAN!!!), Ellana concealer in awake and smile
Eyes: Art Deco eyeshadow Base, PAC palette, LA colors metallic e/s in Mesmerize (just the blue), Jesse's Girl eye dust in troublemaker, Elianto Shimmer eyeshadow in Ivory, Aido glitter e/s or powder in silver, Coastal Scents Gel Eyeliner, Kinepin falsies and my new HG mascara - Maybelline Volum' Express cat eyes mascara, PAC white eyeliner on the waterline
Lips: Trucco pro lip pencil in blood, ELF super glossy lip shine on top

Eyes close up:

Now I know I don't look much like a villain in those pictures...I couldn't pull a villain face without laughing at myself in the mirror! Lol. So instead this is what I did:

(Might be scary but I only did these posts cause I'm portraying a villain! :D)

I was afraid I'd end up lighting myself on fire!! Hehe.

Well, that's it for my contest entry. Hope you liked it! Hugs and kisses~

1950's pinup

Instead of resting up today because I'm sick, I joined Sabrina's 1950's pinup look contest. I couldn't help it, I was bored so I just did my best! I even tried to curl my hair but...alas, teh hair would not cooperate. :/ Pff.

I used:
Face The Face Shop makeup primer in green, Ellana intense coverage foundation in hazelnut latte, Ellana finishing powder in espresso con panna, Ellana blush in lust, ELF blush in glow, Aziza blush duo for highlight

Eyes PAC palette (gold, brown and black), MAC Bagatelle e/s, Elianto shimmer e/s in Ivory, Aido shimmer/glitter powder in gold, ELF brightening eyeliner in black, Elianto stay-on eyeliner in black, no-brand false eyelashes, Aido eye putty (for lash glue), Cinema Secrets mascara

Lips Revlon lipstick in Copperglaze Brown

Please ignore the splotchiness of my skin, it's my skin asthma acting up.

I know the blush looks uneven here, but I swear it's because I had a lamp coming from the other side so it caught the shimmer and made the pink disappear. O_O

Why yes, I did dress up for this!

Look, falsies! I'm so proud of myself, it only took me one try this time!! I'm starting to love falsies...I think I'm gonna get more. :D

Here I tried a few pinup poses but they didn't really work out -- hey, it's hard to take pictures on tripod you know! Plus it was so hot, I was sweating my makeup off! Not to mention I'm sick.

I know, I need to lose some weight :(

I hope you liked it! :D I had fun.

I had loads of fun! :D (Hangout + Makeup)

My eye hurts--not because I poked myself with brush or eyeliner or anything (I got past that)... it's just that I was wearing my glasses and playing with the puppy...and she hit my glasses and bam! The nosepiece hit my eye and I was wincing and tearing up like a maniac. Sighhhh, accidents, accidents. Bleh!

I had so so so much fun today! Class was okay, not so boring but we were really challenged to think. And I didn't really mind so much--I didn't think political science would be anything but boring but maybe I was wrong. Who knows, maybe I really can achieve my dream of a 4.0 QPI (aka GPA) this summer term.

Anyway, today Kaila came over for our hang out and stuff and it was way fun--I totally missed her! We were bonding over old memories and talking about life in general, watching Enchanted and Mr. Bean while we (well I) played around with makeup... I'm jealous of her, she's got good skin. x.x Mine sucks like whoa.

First I did a neutral look on her--omg finally a neutral look from me! Haha. It seems that ever since I got my CS palette I couldn't stop playing with colors. Here are pictures:

I used: The Face Shop makeup primer in green, Ellana mineral foundation in toffee mocha, Ellana blush in fulfillment, ELF blush in glow, CS 88 palette, MAC Bagatelle e/s, Elianto stay-on eyeliner, Cinema Secrets mascara

Isn't she pretty? :D

And of course, I had to do my own makeup (I think I might make a tutorial on this later...or make it another entry for a contest, idk! Maybe tomorrow...). Kaila was playing around with my camera and she took a shot of me while I was doing my face... you can see how messy my room is! XD

Why yes I do have a couch setup in my bedroom! XD

And this is what came out of my playing around with makeup on myself:

I used: TFS makeup primer in green, Ellana mineral foundie in hazelnut latte + finishing powder in espresso con panna, generic blush, Maybelline concealer+purple lipgloss on lips for nude effect, Eyes: PAC e/s in blue, coastal scents palette, elianto stay-on eyeliner, Cinema Secrets mascara.

Of course we had to have a picture together...

Then Kaila also wanted a rainbow look on her (I don't really think I did that well :() So I did my best! Here is the outcome: I used VOV e/s and my coastal scents 88 palette--we just erased her neutral e/s. Didn't wanna bother with putting foundation all over her face again. Haha.

Excuse the poor quality, I forgot to mess with the settings and take another picture--wth Chrissy? D:

And of course, more girl bonding + camwhoring! Messy hair is due to electric fan pointed directly at us.

I'm really glad I got to hang out with an old friend today. :) How did you spend your day?

On a sidenote--Cheysser I will do the random 7 things tomorrow! I don't have room for it in this post. XD <3

I sorely missed the point.

My friend Kat asked me to do a natural look for her, but a mistake led to me doing a smoky eye with browns, golds and black instead. XD It was a stupid mistake really. Oh well. Anyway--I'll do her neutral FOTD tomorrow.

For now, I'm posting the result of an hour's worth of fooling around with makeup.

Products used:
(As always click on images to enlarge)

FACE The Face Shop primer (green), Maybelline instant age rewind cream foundation in sandy beige, Ellana intense coverage foundation in hazelnut latte, Ellana blush in lust, ELF blush in glow, Max Factor pan stik concealer in noveau beige (NOT MY SHADE D:)

EYES ARTDECO eye primer, Princess Livia neutral quad, PAC shimmer palette, MAC Bagatelle, Cinema Secrets mascara in black, ELF pencil eyeliner, Elianto stay-on liquid eyeliner

LIPS Cinema Secrets Lips for Love Scenes (Rip roaring red-32)

Mini tutorial for e/s: after finishing with the face, apply eye primer, then pat on base color (neutral, close to skin shade) all over eyelids. Choose a shimmery gold and pat over lid, smoothing to even out the color. Choose a complementing brown and apply on outer V and blend, sweep toward crease. Apply MAC Bagatelle or similar gold e/s in frost or white e/s for highlight. Apply pencil eyeliner over upper lid and waterline, smudge with a sponge or an e/s brush. Apply liquid eyeliner over pencil on upper lid. Apply mascara.

I totally look way older in these pics. :x But yeah, anyway. I tried to pull off "sexy", I don't think it really worked.
Close up of eyes--of course the camera did not capture shimmer/frost properly...

Also, notice my new hair? :D I was in the parlor today (nothing special, just got mah hair colored to even it out).

IN OTHER NEWS:
I MADE THE DEAN'S LIST! I don't even know how. Haha. But wth--first time ever. Yay!
